Hello Readers!
This post will be about my trip down to Dublin Last week with my best friend Alice.
Originally this was meant to be a romantic trip away for Alice and her boyfriend, but he had the grand idea that I would enjoy the trip more due to the fact there is a musical involved. That was his way of escaping the musical but it worked out great because it gave us a well deserved girls trip.
I was thinking of driving down to Dublin but then I remembered how crazy the roads are and I was not ready to face that at all. So with this in mind I booked bus tickets for the both of us with Dublin Coach, the tickets were 20 euro each for a return ticket. So for the both of us it averaged out at 36 pound. The bus leaves from glen gal street which is just at the side of the Europa, the bus was really comfy with plush white leather seats , and only took about two hours as there are no stops it's an express service. On the bus there were usb ports which meant you could charge your phone, on board there was also free wifi. There was also a toilet on board which was a god send for the both of us as we have bladders of a goldfish .
Once you arrived in Dublin you are dropped off at Custom House Quay which is a 5/10 minute walk from O'Connell Street, this is where we walked up to, to get a taxi to our hotel. We weren't to sure on how far away our hotel actually was from the city centre, but we didn't want to risk a possible long walk.
We were staying in the House Hotel and once we got to our hotel we walked into what seemed to be a beautifully decorated restaurant/bar. As we were walking through a man came up to us and asked if we were looking for the hotel, obviously we both said "yes". He then brought us through a few corridors and when we went through the last door, there was a cute little hidden reception. The staff were super friendly and helpful and they made our stay a dream.

The decor of the hotel room was amazing from funky flamingo lamps to your own coffee machine, you could see a lot of effort was put into the styling of the rooms. One of my favourite things about the room defiantly has to be the bed, it was unbelievably comfy and was like a cloud to sleep on. I'm not kidding the amount of times I told Alice that I wanted that bed was ridiculous, I even face-timed Patrick to let him know what he was missing out on. If you are staying at the hotel you are warmly welcomed to enjoy the facilities in House, which includes an all-day dining room, library bar, glasshouse and garden. The hotel also has a Red Room night club that is open on Friday and Saturday nights where guests can enter for free.

After relaxing for a bit then getting ready we were off to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre to see Wicked, now we seen Wicked when we were 16 in New York so this was a major throwback. It was such an amazing show and getting to relive all the songs was so fun, feel bad for the people sitting next to me and Alice as were singing to each other most of the time. If you're completely clueless as to what Wicked is, it's a musical prequel to The Wizard of Oz and is the story of the witches of oz's past. The London Cast are on tour and doing an amazing job at that, the Cast includes Amy Ross (Kinky Boots, Sunny Afternoon) as Elphaba, Helen Woolf (Wicked) as Glinda, and Aaron Sidwell (best known as ‘Steven Beale’ in Eastenders) as Fiyero. Tickets are still on sale for the show and will be in Dublin until September 1st.

After the show we went and got a well deserved Mc Donald's then headed back to our hotel room for the night, we just sat and munched our food while watching the Danish woman which was pretty amazing may I add. The next day obviously called for some shopping we decided to walk to see bit of the scenery, and it also lead us through St Stephens Green and because it was a nice day it was such a beautiful walk. We then went into Stephens Green Shopping Centre for some breakfast then we got our shop on. After having spent a good hour in Victoria Secret and the Disney store we decided to walk up to O'Connell Street for some more shopping, being down in Dublin we couldn't resist going into Both Penny's yep thats right both of them, the home ware section was our favourite and Alice finally got her Barbie bed sheets she had been wanting. Before we left to go get our bus back up home we stocked up on juice and snacks, with the use of the free wifi and USB port we were also able to watch some Project Runway.
